Summer is coming to an end and when it starts to cool down again, you have to think warm thoughts - or come to us for a reading.
We sat together for a long time and were once again able to inspire outstanding authors to visit us for our program and for our program. Stay tuned: we'll keep you up to date.
Here and - in the classic way - in the information service.
Two events are planned for September after the end of the school holidays. Unfortunately, science historian Prof. Ernst Peter Fischer's evening on the "Physicists' Hour" had to be canceled due to illness. On September 27th, Lena Gorelik will make up for her reading that was canceled at short notice in the spring. Under the title “Who We Are,” she talks about her own experiences as a child of refugees born in Russia.
Things get literary in October. On October 18th, Susanne Betz will present her historical novel "Heumahd" in the community library, the focus of which is the unusual encounter between a mountain farmer and the homosexual painter Wilhelm Leibl. And the young author Nele Pollatschek, also known from the Süddeutsche Zeitung, asks in an entertaining way about the meaning of life in her new novel "No Problems" on October 25th.
It will be varied in November. On November 8th, Kai Strittmatter, known as a correspondent and political editor for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, will report on the latest developments in China. Extreme mountaineer Hans Kammerlander is coming on November 15th and is making us 'addicted to the mountains' with his report and his fantastic pictures. And finally, on November 22nd, Georg Reichlmayr takes us on a humorous literary foray through Munich.
And last, but not least, on December 6th, the Hamburg broadcast journalist Annemarie Stoltenberg will visit us in Gräfelfing to, as in 2022, present us with some of the most interesting and exciting new publications for the Christmas table under the heading “Magic of Reading”.
While the community center is being renovated, the evenings, with the exception of October 18th, will take place in the break hall of the Kurt-Huber-Gymnasium. Susanne Betz speaks in the community library at Stefanusstrasse 8 (formerly Doemens School). As usual, advance sales begin two weeks before the start of the event in the Kohler bookstore.
