Event Summary.
About the evening
In our society, not everyone sticks to general rules anymore. Because we are experiencing more and more slander, insults, intimidation and hatred, mostly on social media. In real life, aggressive behavior and even physical violence occur against people who advocate for society, such as politicians and journalists.
This becomes a real threat to democracy because it discourages people from getting involved. Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, Federal Minister of Justice for many years, and the author Gunna Wendt spoke to those affected about the causes, circumstances and consequences of hatred and violence for their book.
In the haunting portraits, the dangers become very concrete, but at the same time ways out of the crisis become clear. The authors will talk about this at their Gräfelfingen evening.
