December 31. Nele Pollatschek, born in Berlin in 1988, studied English literature and philosophy in Heidelberg, Cambridge and Oxford and received her doctorate in 2018. Her debut novel from 2016 won several awards. In 2020, a cheerful declaration of love to the British elite universities followed in the wake of Brexit. She is known to readers of the Süddeutsche Zeitung through regular articles in the features section. In 2022 she received the German Reportage Prize. Her novel Little Problems will be published in September 2023.
