Event Summary.
Gerd Anthoff reads from Mozart's letters
The Amadis Quartet plays from the composer's string quartets
In addition to Mozart's famous “Bäsle” letters, his letters to father Leopold and sister Nannerl are particularly moving. Mozart traveled to Paris in 1778 to give concerts there. And he hoped for a job. Since his father Leopold had to stay in Salzburg because he didn't get any vacation, Mozart was accompanied by his mother. Nothing came of the job. And the young musician lost his mother in Paris. The Munich actor Gerd Anthoff reads from Mozart's letters and lets his listeners take part in the tragic events that hit the family in 1778. Gerd Anthoff himself made the selection of the letters from a particularly important period of Mozart's life. Experience a wonderful actor with a very special (Bavarian) voice with impressive and touching texts.
Gerd Anthoff was an ensemble member at the major theaters in Munich for many decades. At the Residenztheater he has performed in “Der Brandner Kaspar” around 950 times. He has worked a lot for television (e.g. “Löwengrube”, “Der Bulle von Tölz”, “Unter Suspect”) and has appeared regularly in “Operas in Bavarian” for many years.
The Amadis Quartet with Uta Hannabach and Traudel Reich (violin), Veronika Stross (viola) and Felix Stross (cello) have been playing together since their student days.
