Event Summary.
Beer gardens and folk festivals, artists' bars and upper-middle-class patronage have made Munich the home of writers and poets since the 19th century. And Schwabing became a particularly creative center of the city. The literary works that deal with a wide variety of aspects of Munich are exciting, entertaining, stirring and thoughtful. Georg Reichlmayr's small and highly amusing literary journey takes Umberto Eco, Lion Feuchtwanger, Thomas Mann, Oskar Maria Graf, Sigi Sommer, Erich Kästner and other authors along surprising paths through Munich's history. Of course, it encourages you to read new books and pick up the ones you already know.
